All dangers aside, I think the idea of smoking is one of the finest and most artistic ideas which the human civilization has come up with. The idea of a small stick, which you set on fire and put to you lips and then inhale the smoke is just plain amazing. You do not eat or drink anything, just burn something, inhale the smoke and it messes with your head to give you a 5 minute high. I'm not talking about whether the high is good or bad. It's just that the concept is so artistic and amazing which is what makes smoking so cool. Just think about a civilization coming up with something like that. It's almost as brilliant as the wheel.
P.S. - I don't expect to get many positive comments for this but that's ok. Just go ahead and write what you feel like

haha nice :) that is the problem my friend, in addition to the high it gives the fact that the whole thing is so sublimely beautiful makes it addictive :) though i wouldnt compare it with the wheel, the wheel never gave cancer :P but because of the coolness factor, it is not difficult to imagine people getting into it just to see themselves doing it. maybe if smoking was done differently, like taken from a bottle or something, less people would have done it. or maybe the fact that it gives you a high and can kill you at the same time(so is dangerous) is what makes it cool and not the way it is done. in that case the bottle would have been a rage also :P
that's my point. i think that if it was done in a different way, it wouldn't have been so popular. it's the way of smoking which makes it so cool.
and obviously the wheel is much more useful and doesn't give cancer :) but u don't see so many people who are die-hard fans of the wheel :)

Plus i think the reason why smoking is such a(n) (unfortunate) rage is cos its got to it the idea o destruction...and with that that o power...it must feel good to burn something to ashes and derive pleasure from it at the same time...much like sex fr some o the 'man'kind...

how is sex similar burning something to ashes or a destructive act in any way?
