The importance of you

People come, people go. You realize their importance only when they're gone. Nobody is a perfect companion. No matter how well you bond with your friend or wife or brother, you know that in some corner of their personality, there is something massively wrong. You realize what's wrong with them only when they're around.

Think for a minute. Take this moment to realize the importance of yourself. This life is about you, and no one else. People will not be around when you need them. Your mind has to learn to live with itself, because life will not be generous enough to give you the luxury of good company every time.

Hmmm.. My take on this

Well no one is perfect. The expectation of perfection from someone is a sure shot way of making yourself miserable. Despite having many negatives, everyone yes EVERYONE has a lot of positives, which you like and which make you feel you good.

Thus no one can be a perfect companion. But who said you need a PERFECT companion. The beauty of companionship is accepting the other person's negatives and appreciating their positives.
Learning to depend on others and helping them when they need you broadens your perspective and makes you feel that you are not alone in this world.

Yes life is about yourself. But it is also about making people around you happy. For helping them when they are in need. Living for yourself is good but living for yourself and others is better.

And everyone may not be with you all the time, but you can be rest assured that your true friends and well wishers will support you in most of the situations in life.

So you can expect good companionship in most situations of you life, and sometimes if you don't get it, consider it as an exception and move on :)

haan, most of what you're saying does make sense. And of course no one is perfect.

What I'm trying to say is that one day you can be with your best friend in your home city doing whatever you do, and the next day, you might be in a jungle in Sumatra where everything has suddenly changed, there are no familiar people around and there are no familiar habits you can pursue. The thing that will keep you sane is the fact that your mind and memories are a continuum, so you know you're still the same person, and your mind still retains most of its earlier contents. If you consider your life as a function of time, the only constancy in that is that you have been the same person throughout, and you have been the perfect companion to yourself. You can go on living life happily, as long as its not yourself you start getting irritated with.

Anyway, I didn't know you read my blog. Thanks for commenting
